25 years old to Rent or Drive.
Anyone born after January 1, 1988 must also have a valid Florida Boater Education ID Card to operate the boat. This can be obtained for free by taking an online course at www.boatus.org.

Yes. Anyone in your group may drive the boat as long as they are at least 25 years old, have a valid driver’s license on file with Crystal River Boat Rentals, and have been provided an operation and safety presentation by a LHBR staff member.

Crystal River Boat Rentals does not provide a captain. You or someone in your party will operate the vessel.

Alcoholic beverages or illicit narcotics are not allowed on any CRBR boat.

Pets are permitted on board the vessel for a $50 pet fee. This option is available at checkout when making your reservation.

No. There are several day use areas nearby that are equipped with grills and picnic tables. Ask a CRBR employee for details and destinations.

Will my car or home insurance cover the boat?
It depends on your individual insurance provider. Most insurance providers will cover rental cars but not necessarily rental boats. Contact your provider for specific details. -
Capacity limits vary by vessel. The 20’ fishing pontoon can hold up to 8 passengers. The 24’ cruise pontoon can hold up to 12 passengers.
Reservations, Timing & Weather

What time should I arrive for my rental?
It is recommended that you arrive for your rental at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to ensure the entire rental time is allotted. This will allow time for check-in, loading onto the boat and going over the operation & safety presentation. Rental times cannot be extended due to late arrivals. -
We offer half day morning or afternoon (4 hours), or full day (8 hours) rental packages. Each package has a specific departure & return time that must be followed when making a reservation.

We require 100% of the rental fees to be paid when making a reservation. Additionally, a $500 credit card hold will be placed on your card the day of your reservation. Fuel will be deducted from this amount and the remainder will be credited back to you within 48 hours.

Reservations may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the date of the reservation for a full refund. You may reschedule due to weather at any time with no additional fees; however, there are no refunds due to weather. Changes or cancellations cannot be processed online so please call the office to make these arrangements. No call no shows will result in forfeit of entire rental fee.

We will issue a credit voucher based on the amount of time lost that can be applied towards a future rental. We cannot issue a refund due to inclement weather.

A charged cell phone is required in case of emergencies. Additional recommended items: cooler, ice, drinks, snacks, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Absolutely! We go over an instructional presentation educating our customers on the operating procedures, local boating laws, as well as boater’s safety and etiquette.

Yes, the boats are supplied with all required safety equipment.

By Florida Law, children under 6 years old must wear a life jacket at all times. Also, LDBR requires any guest who is mentally or physically impaired, elderly, medicated, intoxicated or those who are not strong swimmers to wear a life jacket at all times.

A fishing license is required in the state of Florida if you plan on fishing. We do not sell fishing licenses however you can obtain one at a local bait shop, Wal-Mart, or you can purchase one directly from FWC online.

No. There are many restaurants and parks with public restrooms along the waterways.

Yes. Our Boats are equipped with AM/FM Stereos.

No, fuel is not included in your rental price. The charge for the fuel you use will be deducted from your $500 security deposit.
